Getting Started
Connect your business and prepare your first month of books.
1. Create your business
Enter the business name, reporting currency, and basic bookkeeping profile. The guided setup recommends only the categories your business is likely to need.
2. Connect your bank
Open Accounting → Banking and connect a test or supported bank through Plaid. Transactions sync directly into the review inbox; CSV files are not required for the normal workflow.
3. Review the exceptions
Open Accounting → Review. Confirm suggested categories, identify transfers and owner activity, and approve owner-benefit add-backs only when appropriate.
4. Prepare the month
Open Monthly close, select the month, and choose Prepare month. The system syncs connected accounts and applies only rules you have already approved.
5. Close and read the owner report
Resolve the remaining exceptions, explicitly close the month, and open the Monthly owner report to see net income, cash flow, net owner benefit, cost groups, and planning insights.
The application never closes a month or sends an owner report without the required setup and approval.
